"Blue-Chip" Prestige & the "Illusion of Efficiency."

So much for the "Blue-Chip" prestige & the "illusion of efficiency." I spent my morning dealing with the travel department of one of our nation’s supposedly elite companies.  I laid it all out for them: preferred airline, specific routes, dates, and a simple stopover on the return leg.  It wasn't exactly a complex Open Jaw calculation from the "good old days", just a straightforward A-to-B with a brief pause in between. The representative took my details with practiced professionalism and a solemn promise to WhatsApp me the itinerary "shortly." Hours later?  Absolute silence.  Apparently, in the world of high-end corporate travel, "shortly" is a relative term that translates to "whenever we feel like it."
