The term has also acquired a negative connotation, as it is frequently used to describe organizations or movements that are so powerful and unstoppable that they can cause harm or destruction.

Another theory holds that the term "juggernaut" derives from the name of the god Jagannath, who is worshipped in the eastern Indian state of Odisha.

The Jagannath temple in Puri is one of India's most famous and revered Hindu temples, and it is famous for its elaborate chariot festival, in which thousands of devotees pull huge, decorated chariots through the streets.
