One Currency Two Mirrors ?

 [Verse 1]

Does the coin change its nature by the hand that holds it?

We trade in equal gold, yet judge the palm it rests upon.

Why is the pauper’s pittance seen as stained, While the wealthy man’s silver is polished by praise?

[Chorus]

The value of the coin is fixed, Yet the value of the soul is what we vary.

Why do we play this cruel, And shifting game?

[Verse 2]

Does the bread taste sweeter on a silver plate?

Or does the hunger vanish if the room is grand?

We measure a man by the weight of his gate, Yet forget the labor of the calloused hand.

The silence of the poor is taken for shame, While the noise of the rich is taken for wit.

[Bridge]

If we are all but wanderers through this brief life,

How can the price of our bread be weighed by our status?

[Chorus]

The value of the coin is fixed,

Yet the value of the soul is what we vary.

Why do we play this cruel, And shifting game?

[Outro]

One currency... Two mirrors...
