Beware - Scam Alert

 ⚠️ වංචාකාරී පණිවිඩ පිළිබඳ අවවාදය ⚠️

මගේ මිතුරෙකුට මීට ටික වේලාවකට පෙර පහත සඳහන් පණිවිඩ දෙක ලැබී ඇත.

"සුභ සන්ධ්‍යාවක්. ඔබගෙන් කුඩා උදව්වක් අවශ්‍යයි.

මම කෙනෙකුට රුපියල් 100,000ක් යැවීමට උත්සාහ කරනවා. නමුත් එය සාර්ථක වන්නේ නැහැ. ඔබට එම මුදල ඔහුට/ඇයට යැවීමට උදව් කළ හැකිද? මම හෙට උදෑසන අනිවාර්යයෙන්ම ඔබට ආපසු ගෙවන්නම්."

මෙය බොහෝ විට හැක් කරන ලද හෝ අයථා ලෙස භාවිතා කරන ලද දුරකථන අංක, සමාජ මාධ්‍ය ගිණුම් හෝ පණිවිඩ සේවා භාවිතයෙන් සිදුකරන සාමාන්‍ය වංචාකාරී උත්සාහයකි.

🚫 කිසිදු මුදලක් යවන්න එපා.
🚫 ඔබගේ බැංකු හෝ පෞද්ගලික තොරතුරු කිසිවෙකු සමඟ බෙදාගන්න එපා.
🚫 පණිවිඩය එවූ පුද්ගලයාගේ අනන්‍යතාවය වෙනත් මාර්ගයකින් තහවුරු කර නොගෙන සංවාදය ඉදිරියට ගෙන නොයන්න.

✅ අදාළ පුද්ගලයා වෙනත් දුරකථන අංකයකින් හෝ වෙනත් සන්නිවේදන මාර්ගයකින් සම්බන්ධ වී ඉල්ලීම සත්‍යදැයි තහවුරු කරගන්න.
✅ සැක සහිත අංකය හෝ ගිණුම වාර්තා කරන්න.
✅ එය වංචාකාරී බව තහවුරු වුවහොත් වහාම අවහිර (Block) කරන්න.
✅ ඔබගේ පවුලේ සාමාජිකයන්, මිතුරන් සහ සහකාරයින් දැනුවත් කරන්න.

මිනිත්තු කිහිපයක අවධානයක් මගින් විශාල මූල්‍ය හානියක් වළක්වා ගත හැකිය.

මෙම පණිවිඩය හැකි තරම් පිරිසක් අතර බෙදා හරින්න. ඔබගේ දැනුවත් කිරීම තවත් කෙනෙකු වංචාවකට ගොදුරු වීම වැළැක්විය හැකිය.

⚠️ Scam Alert – Please Be Vigilant! ⚠️

A friend of mine received the following message a short while ago:

"Good evening. I need a favour from you.

I am trying to send LKR 100,000 to someone, but it is not going through. I don't know if you can help by sending it to the person. I will definitely refund you tomorrow morning."

This is a common social engineering scam often carried out through hacked or compromised phone numbers, messaging accounts, or social media profiles.

🚫 Do not send any money.
🚫 Do not share personal or banking information.
🚫 Do not continue the conversation without independently verifying the person's identity.

✅ Contact the individual through a different phone number or communication channel to confirm whether the request is genuine.
✅ Report the suspicious account or number.
✅ Block the number if it is confirmed to be fraudulent.
✅ Warn family members, friends, and colleagues, especially those who may be vulnerable to such scams.

A few moments of caution can prevent significant financial loss.
