Voyager 1 Has Been Travelling at 38,000 Mph Since 1977, Yet It Still Hasn't Reached One Light-Day.
Launched by NASA in 1977, Voyager 1 is the most distant human-made object ever built.
Even after travelling for nearly five decades at about 38,000 mph (61,000 km/h), it has still not covered the distance that light travels in just one day.
A single light-day is about 25.9 billion kilometres (16.1 billion miles), showing just how enormous the universe truly is.
Voyager 1 continues sending data from interstellar space, reminding us that even our fastest spacecraft has only just begun its journey into the cosmos.
