පැළ සිටුවීමට පෙර සිටම පලතුරු අපේක්ෂා කිරීම තවත් එකකි.

This is the mindset created by the so-called socialists in Sri Lanka.

ලංකාවේ ඊනියා සමාජවාදීන් විසින් නිර්මාණය කරන ලද මානසිකත්වය එයයි.

I have seen people in my age blame the open market economy for all the failures in this country.

මම දැක්කා මගේ වයසේ අය මේ රටේ හැම අසාර්ථක කමකටම විවෘත වෙළෙඳපොළ ආර්ථිකයට බනිනවා.

ඔවුන්ගේ අඩු ප්‍රවේශය මට තේරුම් ගත හැක්කේ ඔවුන් පැරණි පරම්පරාව වන අප පසුකර ඇති දේ ඔවුන් දැක ඇති හෝ ඒවා හරහා ගොස් ඇති බැවිනි.

All what they have not realized is that without the open market, they would not have even had the social media platforms for their bullshitting today.

ඔවුන්ට නොතේරෙන එකම දෙය නම් විවෘත වෙළඳපොල නොවන්නට අද ඔවුන්ගේ ගොන් කතා සඳහා සමාජ මාධ්‍ය වේදිකා පවා නොතිබෙන්නට ඉඩ තිබූ බවයි.

The socialists do not create anything except discord.

සමාජවාදීන් අසමගිය සහ අසමගිය හැර අන් කිසිවක් නිර්මාණය කරන්නේ නැත.

When an entrepreneur in the open market creates something, the socialists immediately want a piece of the pie, and that too, the lion's share.

විවෘත වෙළඳපොලේ ව්‍යවසායකයෙකු යමක් නිර්මාණය කළ විට සමාජවාදීන්ට වහාම අවශ්‍ය වන්නේ කෑල්ලක්, එයද සිංහයාගේ කොටසයි.

This mindset has to change if the country has to change direction and set out on a developmental footing.

රට දිශානතිය වෙනස් කර සංවර්ධන අඩිපාරකට යාමට නම් මේ මානසිකත්වය වෙනස් විය යුතුය.

But I see a few very big obstacles to that.

නමුත් ඒ සඳහා ඉතා විශාල බාධා කිහිපයක් මා දකිනවා.

The first one is our education system.

පළමුවැන්න අපේ අධ්‍යාපන ක්‍රමයයි.

The second one is the socialists’ politicians.

දෙවැන්න සමාජවාදී දේශපාලනඥයන් ය.

The third one is the clergy.

තුන්වෙනි එක තමයි පූජ්‍ය පක්ෂය.

The younger generation is different, and they have fully embraced the digital revolution.

තරුණ පරම්පරාව වෙනස් වන අතර, ඔවුන් සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම ඩිජිටල් විප්ලවය වැළඳගෙන ඇත.

They do not want to hang on to that so-called glorious past.

ඒ කීර්තිමත් අතීතයේ එල්ලී සිටීමට ඔවුන්ට අවශ්‍ය නැත.

Keeping abreast with the new trends and developments is their priority.

නව ප්‍රවණතා සහ වර්ධනයන් සමඟ සමීපව සිටීම ඔවුන්ගේ ප්‍රමුඛතාවයයි.

It is up to the younger generation to do the needful.

අවශ්‍ය දේ කිරීම තරුණ පරම්පරාවට භාරයි.

Now they have set the ball rolling and hope things will get better tomorrow.

දැන් ඔවුන් පන්දුව පෙරළීමට සූදානම් කර ඇති අතර හෙට තත්වය යහපත් වනු ඇතැයි බලාපොරොත්තු වේ.
